30+ Years of Recycled Rubber Manufacturing | From Industrial Waste to Certified Acoustic Performance
AboutPrismi Srl is an Italian manufacturer with over 30 years of experience in vulcanised rubber recycling and acoustic product development. Operating within the circular economy, we transform end-of-life rubber — primarily used tyres — into high-performance acoustic underlays for residential, commercial, and industrial construction.
Our production chain is fully internalised: from selection and granulation of secondary raw materials to the manufacturing of recycled granules, technical powders, and acoustic rubber rolls. The Prismi Group ecosystem spans three specialist platforms:
▸ www.prismi.it | Recycled rubber granule and raw material production
▸ www.rubber-granules.com | SBR granules for sports surfaces, playgrounds, and acoustic applications
▸ www.recycled-rubber-powder.com | Fine recycled rubber powder for industrial and construction uses
This vertical integration ensures complete control over quality, traceability, and environmental standards. We comply with CAM criteria and DNSH principles, backed by our 500 kWp photovoltaic plant. From waste to resource — this is our mission.
Why Specifiers and Distributors Choose Prismi Acoustic Rubber Underlays
why usAcoustic comfort is now a regulatory requirement in most EU construction codes. Our recycled rubber underlays deliver certified performance while meeting the most demanding sustainability criteria for public procurement and green building specifications.
Impact Noise Reduction up to 22 dB | Certified Under ISO 10140-3
Prismi acoustic underlays are tested in accredited laboratories under UNI EN ISO 10140-3, delivering up to 22 dB ΔLw impact noise reduction. The dense SBR structure absorbs footfall energy, machinery vibration, and structural impacts before propagation through floors and walls. Suitable for homes, offices, recording studios, industrial facilities, and the nautical sector.
92% Recycled SBR Rubber | CAM, DNSH & A+ VOC Certified
Each roll is manufactured from secondary vulcanised rubber — primarily recycled tyres — bonded with certified non-toxic resins free from heavy metals and asbestos. The product line holds A+ VOC certification and is fully compliant with CAM criteria and DNSH principles, qualifying for public tender projects and green building specifications.
Long-Term Dimensional Stability | No Creep, No Acoustic Performance Loss
Density from 700 to 980 kg/m³ and thickness from 3 mm to 10 mm ensure consistent compression resistance across decades of use. Humidity, temperature fluctuation, and chemical resistance are standard, with acoustic properties remaining unchanged — no creep, no delamination. Lower lifecycle cost, higher property value.

Frequently Asked Questions — Soundproof Rubber Underlays
What is a soundproof rubber roll used for?
Soundproof rubber rolls are acoustic underlays installed beneath floor screeds or finished flooring to reduce impact noise (footfall, vibrations) and airborne sound transmission between floors and rooms. Used in residential buildings, offices, recording studios, and industrial sites where compliance with acoustic building regulations is required.
What thickness of rubber underlay is needed for effective impact noise reduction?
3–5 mm is standard for underscreed or under floating floors in residential use; 8–10 mm is used for heavier industrial or studio applications. Prismi MGE rolls are available from 3 mm to 10 mm. For technical selection, refer to ISO 12354-2 dynamic stiffness values in the product data sheets.
Are recycled rubber acoustic underlays safe? Do they release VOCs?
Yes. All Prismi acoustic underlays are A+ VOC certified — the lowest measurable emission level. No heavy metals, no asbestos, no harmful substances. Fully compliant with EU health and environmental safety standards for indoor use.
Can rubber rolls be installed directly under screed?
Yes. Prismi MGE rolls are specifically designed for underscreed (floating floor) installation. They are laid on the structural slab, with the screed poured on top, decoupling the floor from the building structure and achieving up to 22 dB ΔLw impact noise reduction per ISO 10140-3 laboratory tests.
What is the difference between rubber rolls and rubber-cork rolls?
Rubber rolls (MGE) use recycled SBR as the sole material — optimised for high-density compression resistance and broad-frequency impact attenuation. Rubber-cork rolls (MGC) combine SBR with natural cork: the cork layer adds higher-frequency absorption and a more natural feel underfoot, preferred for premium residential and hospitality projects.
